B&M Racing & Performance, since its inception in the 1950s, has been at the forefront of the automotive industry. The founders of B&M, being racers themselves, noticed that the trade was lacking the resources to fulfil the needs of racers and performance fanatics. Seeing this, they launch their company and starting to design and manufacture performance racing parts such as torque converters, transmission filters, differential covers, and much more. With multiple industry-first such as using a performance reinforced Hydramatic for racing, shift and transmission improving kits, reverse pattern valve bodies, and much more, it didn’t take long for the company to become leaders in this market even in Canada. The success of the company throughout the years has been so great that B&M acquired performance-oriented brands such as Flowmaster, Hurst Shifters and Hurst Driveline Conversions to help their client's vehicles reach new heights. Having the ability to reduce the workload on drivers plus uninterrupted power to the wheels from the crankshaft gives racers unimaginable advantages. 

A torque converter that is developed for the race track is extremely important because the engine needs to be able to rev higher from the starting point. Having the ability to do this means more power to the rear wheels during the first few feet. Being able to keep your right foot flat on the throttle means constant acceleration because every racer knows those first few seconds can put you in a position to win. The founders of the company knew all of this and were able to build transmissions with super-fast shifts with zero slippage. Plus, having a correctly modified automatic transmission will outline a manual one when you are always in that racing environment. 

Having an automatic transmission means you can couple it perfectly with a device called a flexplate that also has starter motor gears. Of course, B&M knows that race flexplates need to be SFT 29.1 certified they have a great selection. Don’t try to put a new, high-stall converter onto a cracked or bent flexplate. Add a deeper cast-aluminum transmission pan to hold more fluid and keep your transmission cooler.

Because of their high expertise in everything related to performance parts, we would expect nothing less than B&M having significant knowledge in coolers as well. The over the stock radiator-mounted trans cooler is okay for competition and having overheated trans fluid will not deteriorate quickly but, it will also worsen other internal transmission parts. However, B&M has eliminated this issue with its radiator coolers.
